Betsy and I traveled back to Iowa to visit my mother.  We had a wonderful visit with her and I was able to contact friends that I haven’t seen in over fifty years.  We drive to Chicago to see the Cubs play at Wriggle Field!

The summer of 2010 has been filled with family visiting both our sisters; spending time with grandchildren; and enjoying our garden full of fruit and veggies.  Yakima is definitely the fruit bowl of the nation.
Known as the Rhino of First Presbyterian Church, Steve Barker joined the pastoral staff at FPC in 1984. He served as a campus pastor at Harvard, MIT, the Claremont Colleges, and Occidental College for 15 years. Steve also taught evangelism and campus ministry at Fuller

My favorite memory this summer has been the gathering of many family and friends for a bridal shower for our daughter Laurel, who will be married at FPC in September.  I'm looking forward to our cruise to Alaska later in August, and the wedding as the other great memories for this summer.
